Our Technical department carries main responsibilities for the safe and efficient technical operation of owned and managed ships, ensuring that all vessels remain in full compliance with the requirements of the relevant Flag State Administrations, Classification Societies, Oil Companies and high freight market standards.
Experienced and highly educated Superintendent Engineers are involved with the technical supervision, maintenance, attendance of dry dockings and repairs. Vessel’s performance and condition are monitored though regular reporting from the ships and detailed on-board inspections.
Other technical duties include procurement of spares and consumables required by the vessels, ensuring prompt delivery of the items and the effective control of costs.
One of the latest technical expansions of “GALAXY POWER” are three fully equipped pontoons. Certified by the Maritime Administration, they are used for performing in/out port formalities, bunkering operations, repair works, etc. for vessels, calling port ROUSSE.
River vessels may connect to electricity or bunker water if necessary.
“GALAXY POWER” is providing bunker services to river vessels with gasoil (10ppm sulphur content) and lubricants in Bulgarian Danube ports.
Bunkering services have been developed by „COSMOS SHIPPING” since July 1996, starting in the port of SOMOVIT (km.608 Danube).
The broadening of this service is made step by step and is in direct interrelation with the stages of company development.
In July 2000 the company successfully developed its bunkering activity in port ROUSSE (km. 494 Danube) and since June 2004 the company offers bunkering services at port VIDIN (km. 790 Danube) as well.
During the years the company has made a good reputation on the international market, establishing successful partnership with more than 40 companies owning or operating Danube River fleets.
Presently, the company operates with bunker vessel m/t "ARDA" and also owns a Tax warehouse for storing liquid fuels. The shore terminal is equipped with fully automatic system, connected with Customs system and vessels can be bunkered directly through its facilities.
The first port abroad where the company developed its bunkering activity is Austrian Danube port ENNS (km. 2112 Danube). Bunker operations there are performed by our subsidiary company GALAXY POWER GMBH (Austria).
The bunker station in port ENNS includes the following facilities: bunker storage terminal and the bunker vessel m/t “ORION”. M/v "ORION" (DWT 200mt) performs bunker operations at roads during the passage of clients' vessels in the Danube area between km.2101 - km.2118.
Vessels' supply with lubricant oil and other materials is available upon request.
In 2015 the company successfully developed its second bunkering activity in Austria, in port LINZ (km.2128 Danube). Bunker operations are performed by our bunker vessel "BETA" (DET 144mt) can meet any customer's requirements for bunker supply between km.2124 - km.2139 Danube.
Lubricant supply is available upon request.
Agency network has been created since 1993. Presently, there are agency offices in all Bulgarian Danube River ports – SILISTRA, TOUTRAKAN, ROUSSE, SVISHTOV, SOMOVIT, KOZLODUY, ORYAHOVO, LOM and VIDIN.
